Kenya Network Information Centre (KeNIC) has tapped Mr Andrew Mwanyota Lewela from Sambali Group Limited as its new CEO, effective from 1st February 2023. He takes over from Joel Karubiu, who has led the agency since 2019. KeNIC is a government entity responsible for registering .co.ke and .ke domains.
Mr Lewela is a technology development, project management and public policy expert whose strength lies in strategic planning and tech-driven sales. He also has experience in government affairs, country branding and tech-products development. Safaricom, ICT Authority, Cellulant, Oracle and the International Trade Centre are some of the organisations Mr Lewela has worked for in his illustrious 17-year career.
He holds a Masters in Commerce degree from Deakin University in Australia and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Nairobi. He also has a Diploma in Management Information Systems from Strathmore University.
